Clay Masks in Year 4

This term in Art, we have been working towards making Egyptian Masks. We have spent weeks drawing faces and masks to develop out skills of creating faces.

To make our clay masks, we first drew our design in our sketchbooks.

Then we rolled out our clay and cut out the basic shape of our masks.

We used tools to add on more detail and created 3D pieces to add on top.

Take a look at the pictures below of our process and final products. #

We will be painting these in the coming weeks. We can't wait to take our creations home at Half Term for you to see in real life!

Year 4A - indoor/outdoor learning - Subtraction methods starter

Today we began our new topic on Subtraction for Maths.  Mrs Sangha wanted to see what we could recall from our previous kowledge and so she set us some questions wheere we had to show her how we worked out our answers.  We had the opportunity to share our methods with the class.  She then went on to show us how to check our answers by using the inverse operation.  We were supposeed to go outside to do the activity but due to bad weather we did it inside on sugar paper.  We learnt how to subtract without exchanging and how to check our work using inverse operations.  Here are some photos of us hard at work.
